Katherine
Hi I'm Katherine I'm 31 years old, wife to Shaun and mum of two very busy girls, Hazel & Maeve. I grew up in a small town on the outskirts of Launceston. I'm a lover of board games, trivia, musicals and scary movies. While I love delving into a crossword and was a major Maths nerd in school, I'm definitely a creative soul by nature. This is a dream job, allowing me to nurture my creativity and passion for floral design (while being super organised with a folder for everything!)
Hi I'm Megan, I'm 34 years old, I'm wife to Jamie and mum-of-three to Eden, Annika and Zeke.
I grew up just out of Launceston on my family farm. I enjoy 70's music, romantic movies, and sharing a good pun with Katherine. I've also been told I make a good salad (even by my kids!) I love anything I can put my hands to, I like to make things, create things, build things. I get a vision in my head and throw all my energy and creativity into bringing it to life. Recently I have taken up the intricate hobby of making sourdough bread.
I truly love being a florist, I can honestly say it is my passion and something I'm so proud of.

Hello there.
We are Megan and Katherine and we are MEKA ('mee-kah'), quite literally! The ME is from Megan and the KA is from Katherine. We are the creators, dreamers and driving force behind Meka Floral Design & Event Styling.
We are Local Tassie Girls who both grew up just outside Launceston. We have been friends and colleagues since 2012 when we met whilst completing our floristry apprenticeships.
We're both devoted mums who wanted to spend that all important time with our babies, whilst having the ability to work flexibly and pursue our passion. So, in 2018 we established Meka.
We currently work between our two home studios, on either end of Launceston, in Legana & Longford. With two incredibly supportive husbands and five energetic children running around our feet, we work tirelessly to bring our client’s wedding and event florals and styling together seamlessly and professionally.
With a combined 25 years of floral design experience along with our knowledge and passion for wedding and event organisation, we offer a unique, individually tailored service. We aim to encapsulate our client's personalities as well as their visions and desires, all whilst maintaining a fun, relaxed approach.
Meka is more than just a job for us - this is our passion, our livelihood and our dream. We feel privileged to be asked to share our knowledge and experience with our past and future clients and appreciate every inch of support they are providing us, our business and our families.
